FAQS

Please note that when you purchase from KOR, you are purchasing an item that is pre-owned and vintage or even antique by nature. Rugs might have areas of wear or inconsistent/faded colors but we believe this only makes unique, and therefore cannot be considered defective. All our photos are unaltered and attempt to represent the products as best as possible in natural light. Colors may appear different based on your screen and/or the lighting.

All our rugs are handmade, there could be 1-2 inches / 3-5 cm difference from the indicated size, may not be perfectly rectangular or evenly straight due to being handmade. This is considered acceptable for vintage handmade products and not seen as a defect.

CLEANING

For cleaning your rug at home, we recommend vacuuming your rug weekly with an upholstery attachment, running the head of the vacuum with the grain of the pile. If you experience spills, we recommend spot cleaning your rug with cold water, mild soap, and a soft towel (use one part water, one part white vinegar if soiled by a pet). Blot until the stain stops transferring onto the towel and then use a hair dryer set to "cool" to dry.

All of our rugs are made of natural fibers such as wool or cotton. These products may have a natural "smell" if they have been packaged or absorb humidity. We make our best effort to provide good condition rugs however, they are old rugs and have history. We always recommend to allow your rug to "air" out flat in the sun on a dry sunny day for several hours and than to vacuum back and front before using.

All our rugs are vacuumed and checked for stains or major repair needs prior to shipping. As these rugs are vintage we cannot vouch for where they were prior to us acquiring them and some level of "use" is considered acceptable. For any allergies or other concerns please consider having your rug professionally cleaned prior to use if you have any sensitivities.

SOURCING

We no longer are custom sourcing rugs for clients due to too much variation in vendor photos. If there is a type of rug you are in search of, please feel free to message us on Instagram and we will keep it in mind the next time we order.

REFUND POLICY

We are pleased to offer a 72 hr refund/exchange/store credit policy. If you are not satisfied with your rug for any reason please contact us within 72 hrs of receiving the rug via email and you can ship the rug back to us once approved within a week. Please note we do NOT pay for return shipping.  Please note we can not offer a refund if you did not contact us first. Rug must be returned in the original condition free of stains, odors, smoke or pet damage. Once we have received the item and checked it, we will process a refund on the original form of payment.

DISCLAIMER

Please note all of our rugs are made of wool. At the end of the day it is the fur from an animal. Sheep have a product called lanolin in the skin. This helps prevent bacteria, helps prevent water loss, and is what makes wool have a soft texture. However it also gives it a slight natural scent. Different breeds of sheep produce different amounts of lanolin, therefore not all rugs will be the same scent. The only rugs that are completely scent free are non eco friendly rugs made from synthetic materials with non organic dyes. If a natural scent (think of the way leather has its own smell) is bothersome to you, please reconsider purchasing a vintage wool rug as this is not something we can change.

If the rug has a stronger than normal smell it is usually due to being wet. Wool tends to absorb humidity, and that at times can give them a "wet" smell. This can happen from being in packaging, getting wet from showers or accidents. This is easily remedied by making sure the rug is dried out thoroughly in a sunny dry area for a day. Bring you rug indoors, sprinkle with baking soda, allow to sit for a few hours and vacuum both sides. If you live in an area that is wet outdoors set up a fan indoors blowing on the rug and flip sides so the rug dries thoroughly both ways.
